  1. The best time would be 00:01 USA time. Try going to http://flyairfares.com/cheats.html for more air cheats.

  2. I read somewhere that the best time is from Saturday 6pm to Sunday 6am. But I forgot the reason why...

  3. The Shadow knows! There is no "best time." Or rather, the best time is when you find a price that you're willing to pay.

  4. Choose dead times when there r no occasions or holidays so it will be cheaper

  5. There is a myth, and it is frequently repeated on this website, that it is cheaper to buy tickets on certain days of the week or certain times of the day. I worked in the travel industry for over twenty years, so I can tell you that it is 100% unadulterated rubbish.

You are correct that fares change, but it is based on supply and demand for tickets. It has nothing to do with the day of the week or time of day that you buy the tickets. I have seen fares for one flight change multiple times in a single day. Stop and think about it. If prices were always cheaper on a certain day or at a certain time, then everyone would wait for that day and time. Ticket sales would plummet the rest of the week and airlines would cost themselves billions of dollars in revenue for no reason. They are not that stupid.

Prices can be cheaper based on the day of the week that you travel, not the day of the week that you buy the ticket. For domestic flights, flying on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday can be cheaper. For warm-weather resorts, going in the summer is cheaper than going in the winter. It always costs more to fly around a major holiday.

The most important thing about when to buy is: a). cheap fares normally have advance purchase requirements, so be sure to buy at least 14-21 days before the departure  and b). the number of discount seats per flight is limited. The longer that you wait, the higher the risk that the cheap seats will sell out and you will have to pay more. Possibly much more. Other than that, no one can predict when fares might go down or if they will go down - especially the people on Yahoo Answers who claim that they know.
