Best time to get around Chicago on Friday morning?

I'm traveling from Milwaukee to Crown Point, IN on Friday morning and must go through the general Chicago area to accomplish this. I'd like to get to Crown Point as near to 10:00 a.m. as I can.

What is the best time to hit the O'Hare area or downtown, so that I encounter the least amount of traffic. I realize there is no "good" way to get through Chicago as it seems to always be busy, but is there a "least bad" time? I sure appreciate any help you can provide.

  1. Very early in the am  I took 47 but was going to TN.  but 3/4am not to many people around.

    Good Luck

  2. Your best bet would be to leave really early. Before 6am. After 6am it will be a c**p shoot. Plus it is construction season and all ways to get to Indiana are under construction at some point. Expect delays. Leave early, the earlier the better.

  3. Either really early like before 7am or really late like after 7pm

  4. Downtown chicago is great
