I'm planning a skiing trip to Utah. Alta, Snowbird,Solitude,Park city area.

When is the best time to avoid the big crowds, especially the college crowd?

I'm thinking of going late February or early March

  1. your timing sounds about right. it is usually not so crowded on week days.

  2. Thats a great time, as long as you avoid winter break in febuary, and spring break in March. Early March is good time, also early January is a good time---After the holidays.

I skiied out there one time in April, and the conditions were incredible. The crowds were low, and it was basically all locals. So thats always an option also.

  3. Mid january, School is back in session, before early spring breaks also. Snow is still fresh.

  4. I think the very beginning because there isn't much good snow, and most people won't want to go there, coz it's bad.

  5. That would be about right.
