When is the best time to take my thyroid medicines and my vitamins?

I cant take these at the same time because of absorption

When can I take these to get the most benefit. My Vitamins are almost as important because of other health problems.

  1. The thyroid med should be taken on an empty stomach and within 4 hours of many supplements. If you are on T4 (Synthroid, Levoxyl), you can take it first thing in the morning or even at night. Here's a link about taking it at night.

  2. It is recommended that you take thyroid medication in the morning with a full glass of water, at least an hour before eating. Since I do not get up an hour before eating, I take it in the middle of the night when  I get up. I take the vitamins before bed. Vitamins in the morning can cause nausea.

  3. It sounds like you are taking synthroid and the best time to take it is first thing in the morning an hour before you eat. It has to be taken on an empty stomach. You can take the vitamins 4 hours after the synthroid. I take these medications also. I take the synthroid in the morning and I take a vitamin with dinner. That way I don't have to worry about the two mixing. Hope this helps.
