Question:

Best to get the throw out bearing to not drop while installing the transmission?

I want to do this once because its heavy.

  1. On so vehicle they have a clip that help's hold them in place ,we always had two poeple so one could hold and watch the clutch fork .once it start into the pressure plate & clutch your prety much on the safe side of it .The main thing is once you have it started into the hole of the clutch and right before you get ready to push it in ,look to see if throw out bearing is in place for the last time.


  2. Don't bump the clutch fork while installing the trans. As soon as the input shaft engages the pressure plate/clutch the throw out bearing cant go anywhere. Should not be a problem at all, and in the event that you do drop the bearing before you get the input shaft in place there will be enough room to get your hand in there and reposition the bearing.
