I want something that won't give blisters on my toes (Thats my biggest problem and they are the wrost blisters ever!) I also want something that will make pointe class much less painful. Right now I am just using napkins and bandaids, lol. So, what do you think are the best toe pads for what I want?

  1. I use the fabric ouch pouches (they have gel inside). They will be best for you if blisters are your concern. You can get blisters from the straight gel ones because they don't absorb sweat and you get blisters from the rubbing. the material ones absorb the sweat, but still have the gel inside to cushion.

  2. Well...i use the Leo's Soft Pointe Gel Toe Pads...and they are absolutely awesome and painfree...oh and apart from that...they don't rip easily...=]

  3. i like the clear ultra lite pad, its pefect 4 me, also if u dont want 2 pay a lot of $ you could try cotten, when my friend lost her pads thats what she used and she said she liked it more that normal padding,

if u have a dance shop then go their with ur pointe shoes and see if you can try different kinds of padding,

i like the ulta lite 1's because they give u protection and you can still feel the floor

the only con. is that it is recemended 2 put baby powder on them 2 keep them from being swetty  & so they dont rip but the baby powder comes off on ur foot and its rly gross

    anywho, hope my smarts help

  4. I used ouch pouches, but found they were too bulky for me. I never had a blister from them. I have also used toe tape with lambs wool with Bloch Sonata's which worked ok.

I'm currently experimenting with no padding, as the shoes I like have a vamp that is the perfect depth/width for me, and have yet to get a blister.

Some professional dancers use dishwashing sponges as padding, and sometimes jelly toes (padding for each individal toe)

The first thing I'd look at is that your shoes are fitted correctly, and then it is just a matter of experimenting to see what you like. For example, I don't like Ouch Pouches, but one of the above posters did.

  5. ouch, napkins & bandaids?

i use ouch pouches. they are thin enough to feel the floor, but thick enough to protect your toes. they last a really really long time too.

  6. Tape them tape them tape them! You will never get another blister. Just use normal strapping, medical tape and go around the toe and then on top.

You can also these things called a 'Gel Tip' have a look: http://www.blochworld.com/shop/p-298-gel...

    Ouch Pouches are good too.

    I hope this helps :)

  7. I like Ouch Pouches! They work great for me!! Good luck and hope this helps!!!

  8. I feel your pain, we weren't allowed to use anything in our shoes. Now that I'm old and crippled lol, I like ouch pouches and gelos- with the gel side inside on my foot.

  9. I love my Ouch Pouches, they are not very thick but they are great!

the same brand makes one just for your big toes if those are a problem.

    good luck!

  10. Our teacher only wants us using Ouch Pouches, because she says that we're still new to pointe and she wants our feet to get stronger before we start using thick gel pads. My Ouch Pouches are basically a material pouch with some gel in it. The older girls wear thick pink gel pads, and I'm told they're really comfy.

    Have fun and good luck!!

  11. Ouch pouches, but if you spread your toes out and your shoes are right for you then you shouldn't get blisters anyway....
