Question:

Best tool to clean baseboard heaters?

We moved into an apartment last year and have had almost twelve months of cleaning up after the previous tenants. Now we're finally down to the baseboard heaters, which are gunked with cat hair (loads of it). I have tried using a hand vacuum, but the hair stuck down in the grill just will not come out. Any advice. The "dividers" of the grill are only about 1/4 inch wide.

  1. It's pretty easy to take the covers off most baseboard units.

Brush & vacuum and replace the cover.

  2. we use a bottle brush to clean out our radiators and it works really well

  3. blow them out with an air compressor

  4. Spray them with some cleaner and use a tootbrush to scrub them, it will work great and get in all of the crevices.
