Hi, Can anyone tell me about taking. the trains from Malpensa Airport

to Marriott in Milan? Is it easy to do will all your luggage? Is it hard to find the place to catch the train? (flying in on US Air) I've heard taxis cost over $100.00. Also, What about transportation after the Laura Pausini concert at San Siro Stadium back to the hotel? I'm sure getting a taxi would be impossible since they expect about 70,000 people, but getting lost in Milan late on a Saturday night trying to figure out the way back is a big concern! Thanks

  1. first of all, don't worry about transportation in milano.

from the airport, a taxi to the city center costs around 50-60 euros. but for sure, the cost can increase if the driver drives around in the city center, in traffic etc...

best way to transport is: take Malpensa Express (train) from the airport. It's at the bottom floor of the airport, so you don't even need to get out of the airport. buy a 2-way ticket. Cost should be around 20 euros or less. take off the train at the last station called 'cadorna'. it means you're very close to the center.

marriott is i guess in via washington. you can either take tram number 16 (in front of church santa maria della grazie, which is 10 minutes walk from cadorna) and walk a little, or you can take a taxi.

about after the concert: again use the tram number 16. (sansiro is tha last stop of tram number 16).

    have fun...

  2. From Malpensa catch the bus, then the subway (green line southbound till Cadorna the red till Pagano then bus 61).

If you catch the tram (there's just #16, so you can't be wrong) outside S. Siro you'll arrive in Piazza Piemonte, then you can hop on a bus (#61) or just walk to the Marriot. Easy!
