Best tv/dvd recorder.Presently have an ordinary sky box just paid a one off subscription charge.?

However, I would like the facility that can record programmes from the TV.Some one suggested Thomson's top up box but how does that work. I do not want a costly monthly subscription so what is the best option ....would skybox plus be approrpiate? Want do you think? Thanks for you help.

  1. If you have SKY, you need a SKY+ box,

    If you have freeview, you need a Freeview box with HDD (PVR).

    You don't record programs from the TV, you record them from the SKY dish or Freeview Box, so you need the right recorder for your TV Supplier.

    Thompsons top up box sounds like a freeviewbox that takes a card for pay channels with a built in Hard Drive - HDD to record the channels. (Top-up PVR).


  2. dont listen to that babble above you can get a box from virgin media called virgin+ and you can record on it
