  1. ok first the differences. a minidv would require you to have a port on your computer that accepts the dv cable from the camcorder. a dvd camcorder can be finalized and played on your dvd drive. a hard drive camera uses a straight usb connection (like an external hard drive) to connect to your computer.so first do you have a dv port on the back of your computer? maybe but maybe not, check that first, because you would have to buy a dv card and cable to connect to the camcorder. next is the dvd, easiest choice just finalize and play right? i personally don't like dvd camcorders (some models are really brand picky about the disk you use trust me) . hard drive is the easiest way to transfer video everyone has a usb port but the cost is the only concern with therm. personally hard drive camcorders are the best choice but the money for them makes them the hard choice. if i were you i would see if i had a dv port connection on my computer first then go from there.

  2. try sony handy-cam. Visit http://digitalcameras.fateback.com for details

  3. I did my own research and found that  mini DV (tape) camcorder would be good enough for me. People are saying mini DV camcorder are better for video editing. Many on yahoo will agree to mini DV tape being enough for video editing and good video quality. File being avi.

I have Panasonic pv-gs 320 but you can opt for Sony DCR-HC96. These two camcorder are best for mid price range.

If you have little bit more money then you could opt for Canon HV20. High Def. But I don't know how easy it will be for video editing with High Def.

These are the three camcorder I can think of. There are many more type of camcorders. It all depends on you need.
