Best video editing program for mac??

I have a macbook and I film using a Canon hv30

I have used imovie but dont care to much for it..

I want a professional editing program but dont want to spend $2000 for final cut pro..

Is final cut express worth buying?? I want to make my movies look like film for an upcoming film festival.. I have seen some programs like sony vegas but i dont think they work on mac

any suggestions???

  1. adobe after effects and premiere. That should be right around $1,500.  


  2. Final Cut Pro is the best if you want film quality for a film festival.

    If you don't need film quality, Final Cut Express is fine.

    See if there's an academic one for purchase (much cheaper) or even OEM.
