I was wondering any1s opinion on what would be some good hikes in the cascades or olympics that would have decent spring skiing after stevens closes.

the first places ill go will be the bowls right across stevens, and a few backcountry runs at stevens like tunnel creek and wenatchee bowl

if you have any other opinions that would be great. I can ski anything and just want to ski for longer after the ski season ends

thanks

  1. Mt Baker is usually open a little later in the season. Stay out of those avalanche bowls across the road from Stevens. They look good but are extremely dangerous.  Mission is a good choice for non lift operations after they close, still some snow on top.

  2. Snowqualmie pass area would be all that i can think of. I was going to say Blewett, but it is further east and the snow melts faster there. In fact, if it does not snow more we are coming upon the last few weekends to snowmobile there. There is a snowmobiling trail head over by Cle Elum.... on the woods and steel road that takes you up to some good snow. But, you would have to go up and up with switchbacks until you reached the top where the trails begin. Takes about 10 minutes to reach the top on a snowmobile.
