Question:

Best way of getting music onto an MP3 player?

I have a Phillips GoGear 8GB MP3 player. I have been using a combination of LimeWire and Windows Media Player to get music onto my MP3 player. Downloading music less-than-legally though is really becoming a nuisance. I love music and I want to be able to download it quickly and have it be accurate. I'm sick of downloading the wrong torrents on LimeWire or ending up with the wrong album information. I have been looking into getting a subscription to a music site so that I can get unlimited MP3s for a low price. However, I DO NOT want to keep my subscription after I feel my music collection is complete. I want to get a subscription, download the music, cancel my subscription and still have playable music on my MP3 player. In other words, I want a way to "buy" unlimited music for a decent price without being bound by a contract of x amount of months. Most sites only offer "renting" unlimited music and as soon as your subscription is canceled, say adios to your music as well.

Is there any way of doing this? If not, I can just continue with torrents, but I would sincerely rather not. If there is an easier way, I would really appreciate someone informing me of it.

  1. I would use iTunes. The songs are $.99 each, and you can stop buying music whenever you want. You aren't stuck in a contract.
