Best way to advertise your own website to the public?

I dont want just to advertise my website anywhere on the internet. But how can i, what are the best ways to atract people in public to go visit your website. What is the best way or ways to advertise my site in public.

I have some ideas but maybe you know some better ideas.

  1. the 'best way' is to talk with them personally and to ask them to visit your website. other than that you can use paid advertising , social networking via places like 43things myspace facebook bebo and others.


  2. one way is to tell your friends,and  family members and ask them to send your link to anyone they know, make business cards that features your website, then you can select the people you want. Good Luck

  3. post your link to friends and family and ask them to post in as many places as possible also you posting on as many message boards etc!  Good luck!

  4. The best way to promote your website is through article marketing. Go over your website and pick out what you consider to be the KEYWORDS and then write an article on each of those keywords. I suggest you write a minimum of 10 articles and distribute them to the top article sites. Make sure you put a link to your blog in the resource box( you will not be allowed to place it in the body of the article) If you write good content you will get lots of people clicking on the link to your blog. If you get really ambitious you can learn how to optimize your site for the search engines which can bring you a ton of on going traffic when done correctly. This would require some study.
