  1. for the long haul you'd want to put the yoke under the passenger seat. I normally have mine that way but for the upcoming trip I took them and just loosened the yoke where I could toss them on and tie them so when I get to my destination I can take them with me to my room and not worry about them getting destroyed by some fool with a knife.

  2. We've put  throw-overs on a Honda VLX and on a Honda Magna.

Both bikes have saddlebag "stays" to keep the bags out of the wheel.

We removed the seat and adjusted the bags' yoke to keep the bags above the exhaust pipes.

We cut out the yoke where the rear fender bolts are to let the seat lie flat when re-mounted.

The bags are zip-tied (from the inside) to the saddlebag stays to keep them from sailing in the wind.

We put clear adhesive  shelf paper  on the fender to keep the bags from rubbing the paint.

Our saddlebags have sheets of light metal attached to the inside to help prevent sagging.

  3. Make sure nothing will rub or bind on the back of the bags. Swingarms move and brake rotors spin....both can make a mess of your bags!
