  1. you should DEFINITELY try EFCollegeBreak.com. It won't be the rough backpacking but it's definitely an eye opening experience.

they have a big selection of trips (anywhere from 1week to 1month) from Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Venice, Greece, etc. Also, you get tons of free time (unlike other guided tours) and lots of options to explore the cities yourself.

If you're worried about costs, they have the guaranteed LOWEST prices for college students....so you and your friends would have a blast for the lowest price. Plus, you can use the discount code: Tiu9005 to get an EXTRA $50-$250 off your trip.

Also, they do a payment plan which is awesome so you can save up as your trip comes...pay off each month instead of one huge sum. Trips can be as low as $1200...and this is for over a week seeing major cities in Europe! There is also a 35 day Ultimate Europe trip where you begin in Greece and end in Spain.

EVERYTHING is included in the price (hotels, flights, travel logistics with trains and boat rides, as well as seeing major attractions) so all you have to worry about is the spending money you're bringing because they do the rest for you!

    good luck with everything!

Email me if you have any questions about my trips or about the company

    xoxo

  2. You can check here:

I watch him on P.B.S. and he gives great useful information about traveling Europe.

    Good luck and be careful!

The US dollar is very weak right now compared to the Euro and the British pound.  If you plan on eating in restaurants and going to bars a lot, you should budget $100 per day.  I'm assuming you will buy a railpass for the 3 weeks and stay in hostels.

It's highly unlikely that you would meet locals who would let you stay in their apartment or house, and you shouldn't count on that when budgeting.
