The best way is to stay away from E-bay all together. It's become a haven for scam artists and commercial sellers. The way they make the real money is to beat you with shipping charges. You can get shipping for most anything from UPS for much less. If you want a good deal on something check the local papers etc..

There are all different ways to do it. I am usually in a hurry, so I'll choose the "buy it now" option if the price is reasonable. If I bid, I'll just plug in my maximum amount because Ebay only takes the minimum needed. So if I am willing to spend $30.00 on something but the 2nd highest bidder only offers $10.00, I'll get it for $10.50 even though I offered $30.00. The seller will never know how much I was really willing to pay.

Just make sure you check their feedback scores,  and look at the shipping costs before you bid.

Wait til the last five minutes and also put a reserve( a set amount that your willing to spend ) so it will automatically  keep bidding for you ;)))
