Question:

Best way to bring a laptop on a plane? (Short flight, about 1.5-2 hours)?

My dad wants me to bring my laptop with me when I visit him (even though I don't want to... don't want to make him mad =/), I don't want to use it on the plane though. Can I put it in my suitcase and check it in? Or do I have to carry it on the plane with me, to make sure it's safe?

I have a laptop bag thing.... It's padded on the inside and stuff.

Also, if I bring that laptop bag on the plane with me, can I still bring my purse (that's kind of big) with my wallet/book?

  1. I would suggest putting the laptop in the padded bag and carrying it on the plane with you. You can still bring your purse with you. Yes you can use it in the terminal while you are waiting for your flight.

  2. i would carry it on

    its the safest way

  3. you can put it in your suitcase and check it but i would recommend just taking it with you in its padded bag. you can just slide it under your seat the whole flight. your allowed one carry on and one purse. i usually take my carry-on bag that matches my luggage and my laptop bag.

  4. Can't Use it at the gate or on the plane. But NEVER EVER put your laptop in below deck baggage ( put it in carry on ). On one of my Korean air flights a man's laptop was stolen in first class, but eventually he got it back through mail

  5. Yes, I would just bring the laptop in a bag along with your carry-on luggage. I would NEVER check it in along with my suitcase, that's a wonderful way to get it damaged or stolen.

If you carry-on a laptop bag, most major airlines will allow you to bring a personal item (like a handbag, briefcase, purse, etc...).

Yes, once you get through security, you can use your laptop in the terminal before you board the plane.
