Hypothetically, if I were to want to bring Cuban cigars back from Canada to the US (via airplane), what method should I use?

  1. buy a box of tampons and replace the tampon with the cigar, and wrap the box up in clothes and check that bag..

  2. Buy another box from a different country and switch the bands and packaging..

It's not really worth the risk, 80% of "Cuban" cigars sold in Canada are counterfeit.

  3. Buy some pre bans at your local high end smoke shop

  4. O K A Y !!!!  This is the best way:

Wrap each cigar tightly in plastic wrap (Saran Wrap works really well).  The get some lube (you know, like K-Y personal lubricant) ;)  Put massive amounts of lube on each plastic wrapped cigar.  And then sit on a toilet... (squatting will cause your muscles to tense up, so be sure to sit on the toilet seat).  Reach behind (like you do when you go #2 to wipe your a.ss) and hold the plastic wrapped and well lubed cigar like a woman holds a tampon (if you have a girlfriend, follow the instructions noted on the pamphlet inside of her box of tampons, it has great illustrations, just substitute her v****a in the illustration with your a.s.s hole and then substitute the tampon in the illustration with your cigar).  If your girlfriend uses maxi pads, you're screwed.  Gently, and I mean gently, (unless if you've done this before with other things, in which case, you can simply cram it up there) slide the cigar inside of yourself.  Finally, as soon as you land, just go to the bathroom in the airport and s.h.it the cigars out of your a.s.s.

Sorry, it is late, I'm tired, and your question is ridiculous so I gave a ridiculous answer.  "How can I break the law?"  Frick.  Smoke the frickin cigars while in Canada, and visit often.

  5. First, I would never counsel someone to break the laws of their country. The ban on Cuban products like cigars are meant to penalize Cuba, and not to penalize you the average US citizen.

Since it is legal to smoke Cuban cigars in Canada, I would suggest that you simply buy a few and smoke them while you are here.

However, if you are trying to bring them back for a friend or loved one who cannot make it to Canada, I could say that in a hypothetical situation, a person could buy a box of Cubans and a box from another country, say Dominican Republic. You could then simply swap the boxes as well as the cigar brand wrappers (on each of the cigars).

I would not condone that though, nor say it is entirely foolproof, since forensic analysis could prove that the cigars are actually of Cuban origin, and your fingerprints on the labels would prove you were attempting a fraudulent act, if it came down to that. Ask yourself this question: How militant is Homeland Security now? And how important are those cigars to me?

  6. Not a carry on piece. Bring a baseball glove in your checked luggage and stuff them in the finger slots. Good question.

  7. Actually, SteveN's information is not totally correct.

Technically, U.S. citizens are not allowed to possess or use use contraband even in countries where they are legal.  So even though Cuban cigars are legal in Canada, it is still illegal for US citizens to smoke them there.....

  8. I wouldn't even attempt it.  They are illegal...why even try?  Would you seriously attempt to bring in any other contraband to the country (cocaine, heroin?)  Just enjoy them while you are in Canada!
