  1. Biggie 1:  Weight Training



    Weight training for muscle has a specific purpose and that is to stimulate muscle growth. Muscle fibers do not grow in numbers, they grow in size.

    Effective exercises for building chest muscles:

    1. Flat and Incline Bench Press

    2. Dumbbell Flys, Pec-Decs, or Pullovers

    * For overall chest development you need to do two kinds of movements - Presses and Flys.



    These 2 movements are crucial for overall chest development, however, they have to be performed at various angles because chest is a big muscle with many insertion points.



    ** Calisthenics, machines, and free weights should be done interchangeably.  It's good to mix it up.  Variety is the spice of life!

    *** Perform at least 4-6 sets per exercise for 4-8 reps, resting no more than 90-120 seconds.

    **** Go as heavy as possible without compromising form.

    Biggie 2:  Muscle building diet



    To build muscle, you have to eat like a bodybuilder.

    Your efforts in the gym will only be compensated if you eat the right quantities of foods in the right proportions and at the right times.

    You have 3 components for a muscle building diet...carbohydrates, proteins and essential fats.

    Biggie 3:  Rest

    This is where you actually grow. This is where muscle is built. A sound sleep every night for 7-8 hours is a must.

         I think the best way is to use dumbbells. One can also do push ups. When you do push ups put your feet up on a low stool this will give you a better work out.
