Walmart has stripper rigs which are pretty good just make sure u use a leader. Use dead cut porgy or live eels if u can find them. If live bait isn't an option try using cast-masters and using them like jigging spoons. Hope that helps

There really isn't a best bait for the duct. Those fish seemed to prefer different baits/lures on different days. Many people use cut baits and nightcrawlers at the duct. Cut mackerels, sardines and anchovies all work. Some days, only cut baits seemed to work. Some days, only crawlers seemed to work. You can toss plastics, crankbaits and spinners too. They are not as consistent at the duct. But when they do work, they could out perform baits.
