  1. yeah, and scrub and dishsoap will work too.

  2. you have to brush it, then make sure the chemicals are balanced. go get a test kit or test strips at a pool suply store, like leslie pool supply, or warehouse pool supply, when you brush it gets all the alge off. or you may have bad chemistry that is why you need to check the chemicals atleast once a week

  3. We use a blue sponge with the scrungy side that is made for teflon.  Our spa surface scratches easily, so you can't use a brush.  We pop off all of the cushions and head rests because there is usually residual body oils accumulated behind there.  We do not use dishsoap because it leaves a residue that will disturb the chemical balances and foam up.  You can use baking soda to remove the water line, but be sure to rinse it well and get every bit of it out before filling the spa and adding the chemicals because it too will disort the results depending on the chemical system you use.  I've heard people using baking soda and vinegar to clean their spas, but we use the products approved and suggested by the manufacturer so that we don't invalidate our warranties.  We also soak and clean our filters, using filter cleaner designed to remove body oil and residue from the filters.  Our jets pop out and we remove them and put them in santizer to remove any bacterial growth and after soaking we use a soft toothbrush to make certain any debris works loose and out.
