Question:

Best way to clean around wisdom teeth?

I have a healthy wisdom tooth that came in straight down, but it's a pain to clean. Please don't tell me to get it removed; I don't have dental coverage and there's nothing wrong with it, so I'm not going to pay for an unnecessary procedure. What kind of picks/floss/etc can I use to clean it so it doesn't rot?

  1. Just floss it (Glide is a good floss), brush it with a good TB, and rise with an antibacterial wash and you will be fine.

  2. Are you singaporean? If you are.. you can go any polyclinics to get you refered to National dental centre or any hospital, that you would be get gov subsidary..that is cheaper than private clinics.

since you have a healthy wisdom tooth that is straight down, you can get it out withour surgery..  just normal extraction for my upper wisdom teeth.. only cost 30 buck sing dollar..

you can let your dentist to check.. and for "normal extraction", you would recover, after a few days .. so dun worry..

If you insist not to get it out.. you should use mouth rinse.. that cna help to wash away dirt in your mouth, and it prevent infection , gum diseases too..

  3. Think again about your non-removal plan. I had an impacting wisdom tooth and didn't get it removed, result, molar seriously decayed an had to get pulled. Now I have the wisdom tooth in place of it, not where the molar was though.

  4. Get some things called Piksters.  They are great!

  5. An electric or battery-powered toothbrush with a spinning head so you don't have to try to wiggle the brush around where there's no room to do it.  Most have longer bristles on the outside of the head to help reach behind your tooth. The brush will still miss some of the tooth, so do some sort of flossing behind it even though you're not going between teeth.
