Question:

Best way to cope?

I currently have a pit bull mix named Baby that I saved from the street in May, she's fully recovered now and is up for adoption at a no-kill shelter. On weekends, we sign up and bring her to mobile adoptions at Pets*Mart.

We would love to keep her, but we're already at the pet limit for our city, and our cats and her don't get along. The thing is, I have grown so attached and close to her, and I need to know the best way to saying goodbye and coping once she gets adopted. I've already made a photo album and am continuing to add to it.

  1. its a hard thing to do and don't that your replacing her, maybe try to get a cute furry hamster or two dwarf hamster they are cute, easy to care for and very lovable. rodents don't count in your city pet limits do they? if so i don't know, buy your cats a new toy and play with them a lot.

  2. I have a friend that runs a rescue and she gets attached to the majority of the dogs that go through her place and keeps in touch with a lot of the adoptive families with pictures and e-mails.  If the people that adopt her live close by you could visit with her.  You are doing a good thing.  You should be proud of yourself.

  3. I'm not really sure how I would cope, but if you have a friend who might want to adopt her then you can visit her whenever you want.
