Question:

Best way to fend off mosquitoes?

Because I keep my house open most of the time, mosquitoes tend to come into my house, especially into my room. So when I sit on my computer I get stung like crazy. Apart from using something like Raid and spraying my room for an hour, is there any other technique, it may be through the use of technology, that works? I don't want to go to Home Depot and buy the first mosquito repellent thing I find (like those electric ones) and find that it doesn't work as it's advertised.

  1. Avon have just brought out a New Spray. My Grandaughter use it a few months ago when they were in Bulgaria and the Mosquitos were all around but they did not come near Her and Her Friend. She said it's great

  2. they are attracted to body heat so if theres any creative way you can think of to lower your body temperature that would help tremendously

  3. Get a mosquito repellent with deet.  The higher the deet level the more effective. You can also check outside for breeding sites.  Not only stagnant pools but also muddy areas as well as plants growing on stream boundaries. If you place a fan in the open window facing out it will keep them out.  But window and door screens are the best.

  4. Put a screen on your window!  Most effective way to let the air in your room and to fend those suckers off.  Simple and not so expensive.

Or you can get yourself a mosquito suit as well at an outdoor specialty store.

  5. Some Home depot now have a Mosquito 86 repellent kit on sale that Formally retails for $199 but is now on clearance for $42.50. You may return it for a refund with your receipt up to 90 days for full refund.

It is still listed on Amazon, Target and other retailers at full price. Per this listing: http://www.amazon.com/Mosquito-McCulloch...

Please note that not all Home Depots carry it but some NJ stores still have some in stock. If interested you could check out eBay as well.

  6. Sit under a mosquito net. I'm not joking, just get one meant for over a bed and sit under it whilst working at your computer. By far the most effective repellent.

Either that or fit mosquito screens to your windows and doors so they can't get in.
