That would depend on how old you are. Under 25 try the Seafarers Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship in Piney Point, Maryland. Go to www.seafarers.org  This school is affiliated with the Seafarers International Union and provides training for shipboard entry level jobs. After entry level training you will be placed on a ship and continue your training into the upper ratings. If ex-military they have a special program for vets. there is no limit as to how far you can go. The only thing to hold you back is you.
