I really want to know what hormone they are similar too, ad what function does that hormone have. What doctor of mine should i ask. My general doctor or my dermatologist?

  1. A corticosteroid is based on cortisol, which your body produces to fight inflamation. The steroid is just a way to un-naturally boost the amount of cortisol in your body to fight skin inflamation. Either one of your doctors should be able to explain it to you.

  2. I think that depends on what you're taking it for.  If its for a skin condition, ask your dermatologist.  If you are seeking fast, free assistance, you could call your pharmacist for information!  They have an awful lot of education going to waste counting pills.

  3. Steroids aren't very similar to natrual hormones. For more information, both doctors will be fine, as corticosteroids are quite common. Most OTC itch creams contain them in low doses, and benadryl is  a steroid itself. These don't have much to do with anabolic steroids, or the kind baseball players juice on.
