  1. get some really heavy books like encyclopedias and stuff and put a whole bunch ontop and leave it for a day or so

    Check it out. If it's just a cool one that hasn't much value, iron it or do the book thing. If its a priceless Superman #1, put it in a safe deposit box and call in a pro.

  5. Sheeeesh... WAIT. What book is it? It makes a difference.  Is it a book from 1939? 2006? Doing something like putting it under 10 textbooks if it is a Superman #1 may actually injure the book and drop the value by thousands of dollars.  If it is from 2006, splurge and buy a new one in better shape because the one you have is worthless.  Depending on the shape and age of the book depends on how you should handle it.
