What's the best way to fly to Caracas from Los Angeles?

I'm looking for the shortest flight duration possible as well as for the best price. Please advice.

I found a flight for 05/10/08 Caracas to Los Angeles, Avianca that costs $ 759 USD with all taxes the journey lasts 10 hours, 17 minutes with a stopover in Bogota.

Check with Sidestep.com & Kayak.com for the best fares for your dates. When I went there w my church a couple of yrs ago we flew American & connected through Miami. As far as I know, there aren't any direct flights from LAX there. I think most either connect in Houston, Atlanta or Miami.

If you're under 26 or a student or a teacher, check STA for fares. They often have super discounted fares.

the flights right now from LA to Caracas are direct and cheap (according to my cousin who flies back and forth every month or so for business). Then again with soaring gas prices that mght be subject to change(ughh)
