I stepped on a piece of glass about a week ago. I didn't notice until it started to hurt. Is there any way to get it out? And if I don't take it out, what will happen? Thanks!

  1. Shelly may be kidding but shes not far off from the truth.

I have a piece of glass thats been stuck in my foot for over 10 years, what happens is callous, starts to build up around it. picking at it will only remove the callous  not the glass, since as you pull on the callous it slides right through the glass, once the callous is remove and the " Irritant" remains, a new larger callous starts to grow, but until then, the Irritant ( the glass ) embeds itself even deeper into your foot. and the callous itself becomes irritating and you have to pic it out every two weeks or so, for the rest of your life.

    OR

You can simply go to the doctor and get it removed, if you wait to long it will require surgery !!!

  2. pull it out.  Tweezers would be good.  if you don't it cant get pushed further in there ans cause an infection and you will have to have it cut out or your foot removed.  LOL!  Jk about the last part but it worked for my 7yr old daughter!

  3. Get someone to help and use tweezers/needle to remove it. If you leave it in your body will attempt to "kill" it by trying to dissolve it. Of course it can't do it so you will have a round, hard "ball" of tissue in your foot causing you pain when you walk. The surgeons will remove it if it gets to this stage.
