Best way to get from Heathrow Airport to Stamford?

What is the easiest and least stressful way to travel from the airport (British Airways) at Heathrow to Stamford. I am an American going to England for the first time for my daughter's wedding. Thank you.

Take the Underground (Piccadilly Line goes straight there) to King's Cross then change to National Rail (City Thameslink) via Peterborough to Stamford (Lincs)
