Best way to get into Go Karitng?

Hi I'mm 20 years old and i would like to get into a more professional side of Go Karting. I've been round a few tracks and i do pretty well against my friends and the track records so could anybody recommend any places to contact or have any advice on how i could maybe get further or how to take the sport on?

Well, first you should attend a competitive race and see what it is like and then if you really want to get into it, research what the best chassis is at the moment simply by checking results to races and see what chassis is winning.  You also have to decide what class you want to run like shifter or TaG and then decide what package you want.  .  Make sure you get the right engine package because if you get the wrong one, some series don't have classes for some motors. I'd suggest a CRG chassis with a parilla leopard motor, this would put you in the TaG senior class. Once you make a decision try to find a local importer. Just make sure whatever you choose there is a lot of support in your area for parts.  Then you need the proper safety gear like helmet, suit, gloves, neckbrace etc. Once you have that taken care of, look for the regional series in your area and get information on the series.  There is a national series called Stars of Karting starsofkarting.com and it is the premier series in North America which is very competitive and you must decide how dedicated and competitive you want to get.  All the series are coming to a close now so for the remainder of the year you want to practice practice practice, its all about seat time.  Unfortunately, it is a very costly sport so just be prepared to spend some money.  Get to know everyone you possibly can too.  Might want to look at these websites: ekartingnews.com, pslkarting.com, italianmotors.com
