We live in an apartment building 2 apartments upstairs 2 downstairs. Both apartments upstairs have a dog. (both got 30 day notices to get out) but their dogs have been barking none stop for the past 3 days. One is a small yappy dog, one is a huge pit bull. They have been home and gone again. I have barely seen them take the dogs outside.

I called the police about this matter before and they said its a tenant/landlord problem less they can hear it from the outside...the police station is on the same block. I bet they can hear it but can't do anything if they aren't home.

I don't want to call my landlord again hes on vacation out of state and there really isn't much he can do.

I need help! Its almost 11pm and this won't stop til about 4 or 5am.

  1. Call animal control and give them your landlords phone number. Tell them you think the animals are being neglected. That is what you think right, so its not a lie. keep calling the police every 15 minutes till they show up. most cities have noise ordinance after a certain time at night.

    be persistent.

  2. most cities have noise ordinances - go to the city attorney's office to file a complaint.

  3. Calling animal control is a good idea. Calling the police every 15 minutes is a really bad idea.

  4. Honestly, just suck it up. **** happens, get over it.
