  1. search the internet.  this site has tons of casting call listings: hollywood-opportunities(dotcom)

  2. Get an agent!

Take acting classes. LOTSSSS of acting classes. Then do some more plays and musicals - the more experience the better. You don't need to rush into an agency, you want to have alots of acting classes and experience. Get some professional headshots and build your acting resume (you can google that). Then you can send your headshot and resume to agencies near you and hopefully get a call asking to meet with you! There are no legit agencies in Wisconsin, but theres a bunch in Chicago, and if you live in southern wisconsin, you're in business!

go to http://www.sag.org/node/667 and choose Chicago to see the 21 agencies there. Or if you're closer to a different city, choose that city and see what you can do! Good Luck!

  3. You're right, you don't have many opportunities for film and tv in Wisconsin, so get the idea of getting on one now out of your head. Logistically, it's just not possible.

Basically, keep doing what you're doing. Take classes, do plays, get experience. You're probably not going to get noticed by anyone in the biz out in WI, but you can use this time to help prepare you by building your resume and becoming a better actor so that if you decide to pursue this in college or outside you'll be more competitive.

  4. Continue doing plays locally until you have 5-10 more under your belt. This will help you to build up your resume which casting directors and agencies pay attention to.  Then if you have any acting classes or workshops in your town (other than at school) attend those as often as possible.  Next go get your headshots professionally done, making sure they show the true you and all your best features.  After all this is done and you have a decent resume put together, begin looking for classes and talent agencies in larger cities like Hollywood, New York, and Chicago. Good Luck!
