  1. Is your question, what is the best way to get motivated to do a run? If so then here are some strategies that have worked me in the past.

    1. Music is always one of the best because you can take it with you on the run.  Just download some of your favorite tunes onto your ipod and go.  I did this before my race and while warming-up for my event(s) at college level track meets.

    2. Read a famous quote for word class runners/ athletes. You can find this book in the sports section under the heading of running at most book stores. If not then try Runnersworld.com

    3. Video are another good source of motivation. A good source for this is at www.runningvideos.com

    4. But the very best way is to join some form of a running group that will hold you accountable to whatever you goal is. Give them your email address and/or phone numbers that way they can keep in contact (nag you) and keep you from procrastinating. Many of these groups operate out of local running stores, or health clubs.  Contact your local high school or community college coach they will know.

    Usatf.org or rrac.org are the two most common websites for running club information.

      

    USATF is more competitive (cross country, track and field, road racing and marathons).  RRCA is more for the recreational runner.


  2. i sit down and streach my legs and back then my arms and neck then i pop my knucles and im ready for a long sprint!
