I love my stainless steel appliances - they look great when they are clean, but what is the best way to clean them? Most cleaners leave streaks or water spots.

  1. Use a stainless steel spray and really buff them shiny. You will probably have to lightly spray them daily if you want them looking good all the time. That is why I went with white appliances.

  2. i just wipe mine down with soapy water and a towel

then when nice and dried off

i use WEIMAN stainless steel Cleaner & polish

    works great

no sticky kid hand prinds left

and wont streak the glass on you oven and microwavecan get it at walmart

  3. Try the new microfiber towels they have on the market now.  They work great with just water.  Get them wet, wring them out really good, then wipe.  Works great on windows, mirrors, appliances and such.  They dry streak free as long as the towels were clean when you started.  What I'm saying is you can't use the towel to clean something that's really dirty or  greasy and expect to use it to clean stainless without streaks etc. The towels can be machine washed and dried but don't use any fabric softener on them, it clogs up the pores of the fabric and they won't work as well.  I bought a couple of blue ones the other week at Big Lots for a couple dollars.  They were over in the auto section I believe.

  4. Here's a neat trick the others did not mention. I use baking powder with water to form a paste. Use a brush or cloth to rub it on/ It completely gets rid of all the stains and gives you the luster of newly bought steel.

  5. Maas

  6. If they are really dirty, you can clean them first with an all purpose cleaner -- even Windex will do -- followed by a quick polish with a stainless steel cleaner, the kind that foams (I use Stainless Steel Magic).  Use it sparingly or else you'll be rubbing forever.  Then all your appliances will be clean and shiny with no streaks!

  7. I use that foam window cleaner in a can. Let it sit a little on stubborn stuff on the range. Then wipe with paper towels. If you want to really put a shine on the frigde, and keep fingerprints off somewhat, you can follow with Pledge Multi purpose cleaner.

  8. Lemon Oil. Works great.

  9. I have found the best cleaner is 50/50 mix of white distilled vinegar and water. I have a stainless fridge and 2 little kids and the vinegar gets off all their little marks.

When you're done cleaning, wipe the appliances down with a dry rag to prevent water spots and streaks.

  10. I have a product called Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish.  It works great when used with a very soft cloth.
