You can fly from Auckland, Napier, Wellington or Christchurch by Air Chathams.  You might also get a ride on a fishing boat if you've got a strong stomach.  Last I heard the airfare was about $600 return.  That's as much as to Australia.  You can fly from the main island to Pitt by small plane.  I've never been to Pitt but I spent 3 weeks on the main island.  It's steeped in history and magical but groceries are very expensive.  Take some.  Make sure you book your accommodation before leaving.
