Best way to go from Galway to Belfast?

Hello! We are traveling to Ireland this summer. Our first stop is Dublin (we fly from NYC), then Galway, and then Belfast. But I'm still uncertain on how to get to Northern Ireland. I've heard that the train is the best option... Anyone has a link for it? Do I need to purchase the tickets in advanced? Also, I've been looking but it seems that there is no direct way, we have to change train/bus in Dublin... Any advise? Thanks!!

  1. Hi!  The quickest way is to get the train or bus but I would go with train....  Unfortunately you will need to go to Dublin and then up to Belfast.  You don't need to book tickets in advance, but if you are travelling on a Friday or Sunday I would look into it but you can only (as far as I know) book tickets in advance for 1st class.
