Question:

Best way to heal muscle damage in eye lid?

When I was about four years old I got pink eye and it damaged some muscle in my right eye lid. Since then, it has been slightly droopier than my left eye and I have decided now to do something about it. I was wondering if I put something to cover my eye and keep it closed would it later heal? If so, about how long would it take? (I read that your eye can heal very fast.)

  1. If the injury was several years ago, the lid is healed.  Likely there is damage to the nerve or to the muscle making it droop.  Keeping the eye closed will not affect the lid at all.

The only possible solution is lid surgery.  Depending on exactly what is wrong, surgery may or may not help; only a surgeon who has personally examined your eye can tell.

  2. Pink eye shouldn't affect your eyelids even if u left it untreated so i donno what to tell u.

  3. Your cornea (the front surface of your eye) heals very quickly but unfortunately, this does not happen to other structures of your eye.  Other than having surgery to correct the droopy eyelid, I know of no other solution.
