Best way to heat garage in winter?

I'd like to make my 2 car garage tolerable to work in during the wintertime even though on the mid atlantic coast we have mild winters. It's about 20x20 with a 12 foot high finished ceiling. One of the walls is finished since the kitchen is on the other side and the other two sides are unfinished. I'm wondering if those electric oil-filled old fashioned looking radiator heaters would work for something like this. I suppose something using an open flame would be ok as long as nothing flammable is being used and the garage door is open. Any suggestions? D.B. Young.
