Best way to hook up my sound system with ps3 and hdtv?

Im buying a surrond sound system that has 1 hdmi input and 1hdmi output i will be hooking it up to my ps3 and my hdtv that only has 1 hdmi inputs. I was thinking i could hook it up like this- ps3-hdmi-surrond sound reciver though hdmi input-hdmi to hdtv through the hdmi output. Is this correct and will this way work. Thank You

No that way won't work because you will only have 1 HDMI input you would need 2 HDMI  inputs for it to work correctly. And I speaking about 2 on the T.V it would work that way if you had 2 HDMI inputs on your T.V but the output means if your using one device to run it through another device to run it to the next devices input.

- It' s ok if you don't have any HDMI  from another device to connect to your TV.
