Question:

Best way to kill fescue?

My builder put bermuda sod in the front and threw some fescue seed in the back. I need to kill the patchy fescue. The yard is mostly SC clay. What's the easiest and least expensive way to kill it? I've been looking at herbacides at Lowe's, but there are so many. Time is not an issue.

  1. The bermuda will take over the fescue. You won't need to do anything. In fact, fescue won't reseed itself, so it takes more work to keep it alive than it does to get rid of it.

  2. Use round-up or active ingredient: glyphosate.  Spray it and watch it die in less than a week.
