Hey everyone! I had my first child, a baby boy March 30th. He is almost 5 months now. I had a c-section which im not sure if this has anything to do with this but....i still have soft almost "flabby" belly fat left from my pregnancy (i gained 40 lbs)! I don't exericse or really watch what i eat which im sure doesn't help it at all. I was really thin before i got pregnant i was only 108pds but went up to 149lbs by the time i gave birth. I was wondering what the most effective way is to lose the excess belly fat! Thanks for your answers!

  1. Well first, congratulations on your newborn.  I know it is everything that you always wanted.  My first suggestion would be to try to go for walks or do some kind of cardio.  You can even include the baby in your exercise plan.  Also don't so much worry about what you eat, but about when you eat it and how much of it you eat.  When your'e satisfied you should stop.  Not saying you don't, but I know myself, sometimes if something is really good I tend to eat a little bit more. Lol!  Just take it day by day, maybe three days a week and develop a pattern where you can begin to become consistent.  I'm sure in no time, you'll be back to the body that you wanted.  By the way, if you need help with planning healthy meals or workout plans, go to Sparkpeople.com.  If you want to lose extra stomach fat, just remember that your stomach muscles are the only muscle that you can never work too much.  Literally.  So go for it, and don't give up.  Good luck!

  2. Nursing helped me a lot. I noticed that once I stopped nursing, it was much easier for me to gain a little bit of weight from overeating. In addition to nursing, it might be a good idea (for both you and your baby) to take a walk everyday. It doesn't have to be long, but just being outside can make your day go by faster and give the baby a new environment to explore. You can work your way up--every few days make the walk a little longer to give yourself a little challenge and hopefully that will help get you back in better shape. After having a baby, your body is still a little wacked, so you need baby steps for a workout/diet plan.

  3. Hey

If you really want to lose this fat and keep it off then you should be doing a combination of weights and cardio.  I combined these using the Your six pack quest routine.  It really helped me on my way.  There was 24/7 coaching, videos, book, meal plan, bodyweight workouts, cardio workouts and a virtual trainer.  I couldn't believe how much I got.  It was so unbeliveable I want to buy it again.  I've even got my family on this program and it's working for them too.  I found it at  http://fitness4u.sitesled.com .  This site also has some good free info.  Also some downloadable reports.

Good luck with the fat loss.  Don't give up.. you'll get there.

  4. I think you know the answer to this already. Exercise and watch what you eat.

I am right there with you on this. I was dropping the baby weight, then it seemed to come back and now I am just here with a belly....
