Best way to output pc video to tv ?

I'm looking for the best way to out put video from my laptop (with VGA and 4-pin s-video output) to a non-HD TV (i.e. with component video or VGA)

  1. You can get a switch box from Radio Shack or Walmart that will convert s-video to component video.


  2. no matter what it isnt going to be pretty.  The resolution on a non HD tv doesnt do much for the output from the video card.  Does the TV have S-Video?

  3. i think your PC should come out when it's ready, outing a g*y PC isn't cool, it isn't cleaver!

  4. You can either use the TV as your monitor, check the manual for instructions.

    And if that doesn't work, try burning a CD or DVD with the video, then play it with a CD/DVD player on the TV.

  5. Depending on the model of your laptop there should be an S-video output (the one im using right now does). If it does then you simply plug it in and go to display settings and activate the output.

    Before I bought this laptop, however, I had the same dilemma. I contacted a few places with the same question and they said it was impossible. Then I looked further and found this:
