Best way to promote a business?

ok so basically im 19 years old i have been in the building game since i was 14 i have many contacts e.g.plumbers electricians roofers and have a good relationship with them.my main skill is carpentry but i want to promote everything.e.g. all building work but i don't have much money to spend on promotion.so does any one no a effective but not to expensive way of promoting???i have tried flyer's but it didn't have much effect.please help any advise or answers.

Have you tried sub contracting?? I recruit for a nationwide company getting people like you on board as a self employed basis... You get paid bloody good money.. A minimum of £65 per hour and as well as working you get to build your repuation and get free advertising and after all what advertising is better than word of mouth.

You can make a free website using weebly.com or 000webhost.com or 50webs.com

Add your information on the subject and make a nice website for advice for people interested in your niche.

Then you can get google ads or affiliate programs on your site to make money.

local advertising mags I'm a decorator and the one i use is a godsend get most of my bossiness from it it costs about £50
