Best way to record drums?

through my laptop, what is the best way to get the best sound from recording me playing my drumset. Is there a software i can download? keep in mind im just using my built in mic.

im having a similar problem, i dont wanna buy an 8 track recorder, and i dont wanna spend 100-200$ on drum mics that im not 100% sure i can connect to my computer.

but right now all i can suggest is getting a REALLY cheap mic like i did, i spent 40$ on a condenser mic at musiciansfriend.com

and use the program "audacity" [its free] its really good for recording, its what i use
