So here is the thing, Im the ASM for a production that just started, I am on a wireless headset, so to prevent the cable from catching on things I run it under my shirt and tape it to my chest, ribs and hip, yes its very uncomfortable and yes its painful to take off every night, but I have to do it. I have left over residue from the tape all over my side, any easy recommendations to get rid of the residue would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Okay, I have this same problem. I use finger nail polish remover and a cotton ball. Theatres usually have barier wips to wipe down the area before you apply. Its gets the area sticky so you cam peel off easier. I hate resedue. To get used to it wear the tape in those areas around the house.

  2. If you are using clear medical tape, I would suggest fingernail polish remover. One that is a non-acetone formula. I used it when I had to tape a vocal mic to my cheek/ear area. It can burn a little if you have sensitive skin, but it works. I've also used it on my face to remove paint.

Actually, a makeup remover in liquid or wipe form might work. Those would be more kind to your face, I would think.

  3. I've had to do this many times myself.  The worst part was they had to tape it to my chest, right on a patch of hair.  Yowza!

Rubbing alcohol works pretty well.  Use a qtip, or a cotten ball and just rub it of.  No worries.  The only down side is if you have sensitive skin.  The tape itself may cause the skin to be a little red for a while, so you might not want to make it any worse.  You could try either Lubraderm lotion, or a little bit of baby oil.  That should work.

    Good luck
