Best way to stimulate lungs

When I run I can go out of breath quite quickly.

Is there any exercise or warm up I can do before running to improve my running distance?

  1. Learn to play a wind instrument like a clarinet or trumpet.


  2. Not smoking is usually good for the lungs.

  3. Well... Constant jogging every day is a good way. Another way i improve my running distance is by doing this. I take it 2 breath by nose and give out 1. Then 2 breath in and 2 breath out. It becomes a beat and i just go according to it. It helps to prevent myself from running out of breath. The best thing is also to enjoy it. Once i was enjoying my run so much that i ran faster than others and longer XD

    Edit: Age don't really matter to me. Even a elderly regular jogger can out run/jog a teenager who don't exercise at all. In that case it happen to me once when i was 14 ._.

  4. You have to work up to distances.

    Also, you have to pace yourself. If you sprint you get tired more quickly than if you run like a distance runner.

Sit upright and breath slowly, inhale until you feel the air in your lungs expand the sides of your ribcage, and exhale the same, make sure you fill your lungs, it's not about your chest expanding so much as it is your entire upper body. Do this slowly, and repeatedly for four to five breaths, two or three times a day, before running or any exercise, it will build up your lung capacity.  

  7. i say swimming stimulates your lungs more
