Best way to treat heartburn at home? I don't have any antacids...or gaviscon?

  1. Drink one tablespoon of pickle juice...I know it sounds weird but usually heartburn is caused by too little acid...not too much.


  2. Milk, laying down if you can and more MILK maybe saltines :D People make me happy that they are comming to this section to ask our opinion I FEEL SPECIAL :D

  6. drink a full glass of warm milk and have a bath, stay sitting in a lazy up right and relax in your  bath about 15 mins it should go away :)

  10. A table spoon of brown sugar will do the trick. You can use regular sugar too but brown works better. You can also try to have a banana or some toast... these seem to help.  

  11. Milk. I have horrible heart burn and milk is a base and will counteract the acid in your stomach. Good luck.

  12. Some people say milk...  I like cranberry apple juice does wonders... doc told me to try a small glass of that at night before bed and it has helped so much, my husbands started drinking it now for his heartburn and loves it!

  13. Check with your midwife just to be sure but a little baking soda mixed in some water should do the trick. Not very tasty but the baking soda is an alkali and it will reduce the amount of acid in your tummy.

  14. Take one or two teaspoons of natural apple cider vinegar and raw honey in a glass of distilled water before meals to prevent heartburn. This combination also promotes digestion and neutralizes any body toxins. In case the taste of vinegar is a problem, take natural apple cider vinegar tablets and wash them down with honey water.

  16. this will sound crazy but pineapple works.  Either the juice or the fruit will help.

    this is a home remedy/homeopathic remedy and I have had nothing but success with it since I learned about it.

  19. The best home remedy I know of is baking soda.  I think you mix one teaspoon with half a cup of water (it is on the side of the box). You might check with your doctor though especially if you have high blood pressure.
