I have dark stain on my wood floors, and was wondering what was the best stain remover or best action to take to remove the stain from floors?

  1. First, sand the wood down to its actual wood (remove protective coatings). After that the wood floor would probably look spotty with remaining stains. Apply bleach with a large sponge or mop. Don't overuse the bleach as it will harm the wood. Let it sit for few hours and mop with warm water. Repeat as necessary.

  2. Well, it depends on what kind of top coat is on your floor - Polyurethane or Shellac.

I had an antique table that I was refinishing and I ended up sanding the whole thing.  I had done 5 layers of stripper and still had to do more and my nose just couldn't take it anymore.

  3. The stain actually soaks into the wood itself, so you may have to sand them down a considerable amount. Even if they are real wood, this has a chance of seriously damaging them. This can not be done with laminate.
